Savannah - Arlie Virginia May, age 90 and the last of eleven children, died Tuesday, July 4, 2006, at St. Joseph’s Hospital. The Swainsboro, GA native had lived in Savannah for most of her life. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Temple and the Woodmen of the World. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Edison May.
Surviving are three children, Ginger May of Birmingham, AL, Frankie Beasley of Pembroke and Larry Henry of Savannah; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Interment will follow at Hillcrest Abbey West on Dean Forest Road.
